Prestigious collaborations, new products and a completely renewed proposal of materials are on display from Tuesday 7 June at the Salone del Mobile in Milan.
Paola Navone creates Bolle, Midj’s first outdoor collection. It is composed of an armchair, lounge armchair, sofa, coffee tables, floor lamp and suspension lamp. All elements are characterized by the macro-perforated backrest design that recalls the light spirit of bubbles. Bolle offers a soft aesthetic and a design with a Mediterranean flavor, to experience environments en plen air with originality.
Armchair, lounge armchair and sofa are made of lacquered metal, polyurethane foam cushions, and outdoor fabric upholstery.
Suspension and floor lamps made of metal.
From the collaboration with Paola Navone, the table collection Plissé takes shape, with its strong yet elegant presence. The metal base represents the main feature of the collection, placing itself as a prominent element, which captures the attention and gives character to the design.
Plissé is available in the dining table ø180 cm and ø150 cm versions with top in wood, crystalceramic or marble. It is possible to complete it with an elegant lazy susan. Plissé is also available in the bistrot base version H73 and H103, suitable for outdoor use.
In a slightly ironic way, Plissé pays homage to the world of fashion and the iconic pleated work, so much in vogue in the 50s and 60s, and still trendy in today’s fashion. Paola Navone explains: "When we design a table, we always like to think that it is free to have many lives, that it is familiar and convivial, but also perfect for working, reading, studying ... not bound to a single function, but versatile and naturally at ease almost everywhere."
Soft and cozy, S1 is the collection of chairs designed by Paola Navone to interpret the archetype of the home furnishing accessory par excellence: a simple chair with a four-legged base and a full backrest and balanced proportions. Sinuously defined curves characterize the entire design. The backrest has a delicately enveloping shape, which widens at the top, to offer adequate support to the back and shoulders. The seat, also ergonomic, bends forward to join smoothly with the legs, avoiding sharp edges and corners.
Its simplicity can be dressed with a leather, fabric or faux lleather upholstery, the metal feet can be configured to match the upholstery or in contrast by choosing from the 21 available shades. The special piping that runs from one side of the backrest to the other can be customized by choosing from the available materials.
The S1 chair is available in three variants: the one with a low and wide backrest, ideal for the living room, for lounge areas or to furnish hotel rooms; the one with high back, perfect as a dining chair, and the variant with low back, perhaps the most versatile of all, which lends itself to many different occasions of use, even for the study or the home corner dedicated to home working .
Its informal and refined style has the ability to perfectly marry modern environments, but also more classic contexts, blending naturally with the other furnishing elements.
“Designing the Spike table was an engineering challenge as well as a stylistic one” says Giulio Iacchetti, who designed Spike, an essential table, where different geometries meet to generate a pure product from a formal point of view. "Spike is a table that wants to celebrate essentiality, the absolute reduction of components, an apparently light table, which conveys the idea of solidity and a sense of finality" continues Giulio Iacchetti.
Spike is available in the rectangular table version 300x120 cm and in the round table version ø140 cm. The base is made of painted metal, available in a very wide range of colors. The top is made of transparent glass.
Midj’s president and founder, Paolo Vernier, creates a collection of tables characterized by aesthetic simplicity that guides his creative gesture, without ever neglecting the functionality and personalization of the product.
Akashi summarizes this philosophy through essential and clean lines: proportions and balance are the key words for a four-legged table capable of well interpreting domestic needs, but also those related to the office.
With a visual impact, the design strikes for its lightness, obtained thanks to a meticulous study of construction details. The corners are clear and well defined and the thicknesses reduced to a minimum, but the solidity is absolute.
Akashi is made with legs and structure in painted aluminum. It is available in a version in numerous dimensional variants and tops in glass ceramic, fenix, veneered or laminated wood, or in an extendable version with top in veneered wood, fenix or laminate.
The Dalia collection, designed by Beatriz Sempere, is enriched with the introduction of new components: waiting area, sofa, lounge with high back, pouf and coffee table. All the elements are characterized by the softness of the curves in the full style of the collection, which is inspired by the elegant geometry of the summer flower of the same name.
The sofa is available in the versions with low or high back. The padded seats can be upholstered in leather, fabric or faux leather, it is also possible to configure the front and back in different colors or materials. The shells can be combined with different types of painted metal or wooden bases.
Optional: headrest cushion for the sofa version with high back.
The lounge armchair with high back envelops you with softness: the seat upholstered in leather, faux leather or fabric can be combined with bases in lacquered metal or wood. If the respective footrest is then combined, the relaxation corner will be complete.
Again for the furnishing of lounge areas, Dalia is also available in the lounge armchair version with low backrest.
Three coffee tables in veneered wood with soft lines complete the collection, ready to decorate domestic or hospitality spaces.
Jacopo Maria Giagnoni designs Dama: a desk collection with an industrial and contemporary taste. Bistrot base and desk, both available in two heights, create the offer, declining the concept of Dama in two distinct variants that meet the most varied needs, from bistros to coworking spaces, to the home.
The aspect that denotes and marks the collection is the particular base structure in painted metal: the bistro base is characterized by four square section legs that converge and cross centrally, the desk version, on the other hand, interprets the same union of the legs, but this time the game remains at the edge of the product in order to offer the maximum working space without the size of the structure under the top, which can reach up to two meters in length. The top can accommodate a practical cable management kit, which ensures order and operation, in full Midj style.
Color and personality are the distinctive characteristics of the Woody collection, which envelops a wide range of dimensions and variants: square table, rectangular table, high and extendable table.
All versions share the same construction style: round section legs covered in ash wood, metal structure supporting the top available in veneer, laminate, fenix, crystalceramic or glass.
The Clessidra collection expands and now also includes the table with a double 300x120 base, three coffee tables in different sizes and heights and bistro bases. Clessidra takes its name from its evocative shape, born from the idea of Midj's president and designer, Paolo Vernier.
The Bold mirror collection, designed by Andrea Lucatello, is available in two different shapes and is characterized by soft lines and a truly alternative frame, which can be covered in fabric and can perfectly match the finishes chosen to furnish your spaces.
The shapes that outline this mirror are inspired by the artisanal productions of the ancient glassmaking tradition, molded through the heat into sinuous and rounded shapes, evocative of a large glass bubble.
The Lea sideboard collection is enriched with the H132 version: a perfect sideboard to furnish spaces with style. An iconic collection, designed by Midj's president and founder Paolo Vernier.
