Karim Rashid is one of the most creative, prolific, and unconventional designers and architects in the contemporary scene. Born in Cairo in 1960 to an Egyptian father and an English mother, he grew up in an artistic and cosmopolitan environment between London and Ottawa, Canada, where he graduated in Industrial Design from Carleton University in 1982. He then specialized in Italy, between Naples and Milan, and eventually settled in New York, where he opened his studio in 1993.
Sensitive to social issues and sustainability, Karim Rashid envisions an ideal future where design is accessible to all in a world dominated by beauty. His works, characterized by a futuristic and eccentric mood, emerge from this ideal world, where color plays an essential role.
Today, Karim Rashid’s work is considered among the top 10 most influential designers in the world, encompassing over 4,000 projects in production, 400 awards to his name, and clients in 47 countries.
